Steel Casement Window Repair

Common components of a steel casement window

Steel casement window

Steel casement window tune-ups may require:

  • Grinding and sanding steel casement frames where the metal is touching metal (this will relieve tightness from the excess paint) to refit square windows into out-of-square opening to help reduce noise & cut down air drafts.
  • Lubrication of exterior hinges for smooth operation.
  • Lube existing operators with Lithium grease if necessary, replace operators to similar operators for extra charge (ie., ‘tear-drop', square, etc.).
  • Adjust the lock to help pull the sash into the frame for a strong seal.
  • Opening of weep holes to allow water to properly drain from window frames and sills.
  • If the frame is badly warped it may be necessary to add brass weather stripping to help seal the window for better energy efficiency & noise reduction.
  • If necessary, we can replace the bottom steel rail if it has been badly damaged, each quoted individually.

Your team did a great job, when they repaired 70 original, double hung windows in my historical home built in 1930. They were well trained, professional and quick.
